The Script.

A long holiday awaits, and I am getting nagged at to go work. Not that I am too shy to work, nor do I detest working. But I’m just trying to find a job that can accommodate my training and church.

Moving on, today was a ‘get fit’ day! The Sports Ministry people organised a run at East Coast Park, at 3pm! So coach said she was testing out some new formulas for our training. By throwing in a long run on Sunday, she’ll like to know if we can still train well on Mondays or not. I believe if our mental condition is good, it can overcome our physical tiredness. Anyway, the run was tiring, it was warm and I felt dehydrated, but I still tried my best to do a 60min run, thank God for pulling me through.

Service was interesting today, pastor talked about the script we have written for our daily lives. It’s like a daily routine that we have already set out for our day, that we are used to. Sadly, our script does not involve God. It might seem tough to involve God in our daily lives, but if we try hard enough, it will become a habit. And soon, the tiny little voice of God that we always miss to hear, will become a conversation between us and Him.

Doubts & fears.

Back from training, and exams ended. One less worry in my mind. This is my 5th consecutive day of running, 4 long runs and 1 workout (today).

As the workout was read, doubts filled my mind. 16 sets of 400m, at a pace that I am not used to, how am I going to complete it? The doubts did not matter as workout started, and I believe the difference is in running in a group. When you run alone, it just seems much more difficult to find self-motivation. With a bunch of passion-driven trackmates to accompany you along the workout, how could you disappoint them?

With that said, I believed the Lord was with me as I ran. Having faith in Him, that He will help you finish your workout, if you run for His glory. Instead of chasing after times, records and medals, run for His glory. I believe He can use you to do things that you never imagined that you could do before. Just like how I ran a 10,000m race when I used to be a 100m sprinter. Trust the Lord. 🙂

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

Security.

Was watching a Hong Kong drama on TV just now, yea I know I should be studying!

So it was about satisfying our wants, by working we earn money, and we use what we have earned to buy things we want to keep ourselves happy and satisfied. And one of the actress mentioned, that even though we work and save, we should not spend unnecessarily. As by having more money, we’ll feel more secure.

Yes I do not deny that, in the present society, that’s the ‘approved’ standard, that money equates to security. But to think about it, God created us, that we might trust in Him, and our security lies in Him, not money.

Have we instead turned to worship money instead of God? By walking with the Lord, He can give us more than money, more than fame, more than what the enemy has to offer, but yet we choose to succumb to the enemy’s temptations.

I do not deny, that I too am a victim. But I just pray and hope, that we can have a little more faith, and walk closer to Him.

Chasing the mist.

Are you chasing the mist, or running for the Glory of His Kingdom?

I probably got inspired to set up a blog or sort of, just to log my running journey with the Lord, and some personal stuffs. Let’s hope I don’t get lazy!

This is my first post, so I’ll keep it short.
